Postpartum Care Tips
Being a new mom isn't easy
Remember… only a healthy mother can have a healthy baby.
Eat Healthy
Maintain a balanced diet. It will help you stay healthy and active so that you can care for your baby.
Ask for Help
Babies are a lot of work. Don't be afraid to ask family and friends to help out as you adjust to life with a new baby.
Talk to Your Provider
Your provider is there to help you during this time of change. Be sure to discuss any questions or concerns that you have with your provider – both about your health and the health of your baby.
Update Your Information
Be sure to let your health insurance company know when your baby is born. If you are a Medicaid consumer, it is especially important to contact your caseworker as soon as you find out you are pregnant and as soon as you give birth, so that your baby can be added to your health care coverage.
