The flu vaccine (shot)
Everyone six months and older should get the flu vaccine (shot). However there are certain people who are at higher risk for flu complications. These include:
- Children younger than five years of age
- Adults 50 years of age or older
- Pregnant women
- People who have chronic medical conditions, such as asthma or diabetes
- People who live with or care for those at higher risk of flu complications
Ask your provider if the flu shot is right for you
Some people cannot get the flu shot. Make sure to talk to your provider to see if the flu vaccine (shot) is right for you.
