What is the Office of Individual and Family Affairs (OIFA)?

The OIFA is a team of people at Molina who will help you with your health care. We will:

  • Share stories of our own health experiences with you. We’ve been where you are.
  • Speak your language.
  • Listen to you without boxes to check or time issues.
  • Help you with the health care system.
  • Visit you in the hospital or the community if you want.
  • Connect you to community resources.
  • Advocate for you and let your voice be heard.
  • Support you when you voice your concerns and complaints.
  • Connect you with others like you who want to change how our system works.
  • Believe in your recovery and wellness.

At Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), OIFA promotes recovery, resiliency and wellness. We have the same kind of team here. Every AHCCCS health plan has one!

We are experts in mental health and substance use. We can also help with other health issues. We focus on lived experience, peer and family relationships, and our members' voice and choice.

Molina’s OIFA promotes the availability of peer support and credentialed family support services. These services have professionals who can connect with you, share their stories of recovery and help you with the system. You can use peer support and credentialed family support services. They can help you if you’re in programs such as:

  • Behavioral health
  • Transition-aged youth
  • Substance use disorder in youth
  • Substance use disorder and adults

OIFA builds partnerships with individuals, families, young people, communities and organizations. We work with providers, key advocacy leaders and community members in the decision-making process at all health system levels.
