Youth Raise $500 in a "Hula Hoop for Heart Health" Challenge
02/26/2013
Molina Healthcare challenged 100 students ASES at John Still Elementary to hula hoop for heart health. The participating students earned a $500 grant, donated by Molina Healthcare, for committing to improve their heart health.
“Hula hooping is an easy and cost-effective exercise that burns about 7 calories a minute,” said Adriana Bowerman, director of community outreach for Molina Healthcare of California. “Tying hula hoops to health education, made important health lessons fun and interesting. We hope this activity encourages youth to stay active.”
