Prescription Drugs
Your drug benefit is provided by Passport by Molina Healthcare and Kentucky Medicaid.
Starting on July 1, 2021, we began working with a pharmacy benefits manager (PBM), MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc., that serves all members in managed care.
Their member service team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling (800) 210-7628.
Your ID card has important information for your pharmacy. If you do not have your new ID card you can still go to the pharmacy. Tell them you have Medicaid and the pharmacist can call MedImpact to get the needed information. Before you go, make sure the pharmacy accepts KY Medicaid. To find a pharmacy or see what is covered, go to https://kyportal.medimpact.com/.
You can also find information on drug coverage including step therapy, generic substitution process, restrictions of your pharmacy coverage like quantity limits, age limits, how limits are applied to your coverage, and drugs that require prior authorization by contacting MedImpact. You can do so by calling the MedImpact member services department at the number listed above or by using the MedImpact portal linked above.
Your provider can submit a prior authorization request to MedImpact on your behalf using the provider portal. Your provider has been instructed to contact MedImpact for additional information on how to submit a prior authorization.
